We help out Tom Templeman (another special effects guy) with his sprint car.
We have ridden the annual Thanksgiving Day Barstow to Vegas trail ride many times.
L to R: Big Mike (Studio Water Truck Driver and 71 Crew); Sparky Edmonston (Studio Driver Extrordinaire and Agent for the 71); Richard McCormick (Key Grip, and driver of the 71); Steve LuPort (Special Effects and owner of the 71); and LuLu Strub (Special Effects and a sponsor of the 71)
The parade lap for the Stuntman"s Enduro Sept 7, 2008. Matt and Jeff Pepiot in the 14 car, the only special effects guys in the race. Eddie "Doogie" Conna (owner of #14 and organiser of this race) and Selena (Silent Mike"s girlfriend) did the 2nd half of the enduro). Mike Ryan leads in his Pike"s Peak diesel Racetruck. Lots of fun with our colleagues and friends. Silent Mike Photo

After we stopped Pro-Rally racing as competitors, we continued on as officials. Here we are as part of a retrieval crew.
A relaxing evening at Santa Maria Speedway. Have patience with the download: about a minute of .MP4. That fast kid in the 17, Justin Marsh, did get by me on the next lap.
April 17, 2011....The 1976 Chevrolet Nova racecar nears completion. L to R: Matt, LuLu, Betsy and Dave Busick, Ace Picture Builder
Here"s that Nova after I got it, on the way back to the shop. It was sitting in a field near Bakersfield, where it had been stripped out and painted in a patriotic color scheme. Someone had bought it and started a racecar project and had run out of money. So it sat for a couple of years, and Bruce Johnson hooked me up with Marvin, who was storing it at his farm.
Here is the Nova"s first race, May 5, 2012. Left to right: Mike Leland, Matt, and LuLu. The car felt good, but tossed both fanbelts about 10 laps into the main.
Our nephew, Chaz (AKA Charles Herrin) flings his roadracing motorcycle into a turn at PIR, dragging his knee at oh-so-fast. LuLu and Matt are proud Aunt and Uncle.
We sponsor Kayle Kolkman for AMA Dirt Track Racing. As of May 8, 2018 he is tied for 11th in national standings. Not bad for someone without a shred of factory support.
